You find yourself at a Spanish market, looking for chili peppers and you don’t speak Spanish? Simply type in the English term in the search engine: the Food Guide will show you the appropriate term in five languages, including Spanish, immediately. Along with this, there is a photo (which you can show to the salesperson) and the most important information about the product.
Alternatively, you might find “Branzino� on the menu of an Italian restaurant – a fish which you do not know yet. Simply enter the name in the foreign language. You will get to the respective entry for „sea bass“, and you can briefly and precisely read the most important information on this fish.
The editor Michael Ditter and the renowned food journalist Ingeborg Pils, who have been producing culinary books and reference works together for international publishers for years, offer a new form of food science, including translation help.
